Stopover in Dubai

Hi everyone!

Aaron, Joy and I did a stopover in Dubai with our flights through Emirates. We started from Minneapolis bright and early Wednesday morning and then flew to JFK where we boarded a plane to Dubai. In Dubai we were very excited to sleep in beds laying flat but we made ourselves adjust to the time and stay up until night. Once we landed, we took the metro downtown where we saw the Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Mall.  The Burj Khalifa definitely is impressive standing 163 stories high, 2722 feet tall, and holds the ranking of the tallest building in the world. We wandered through the mall which has a neverending supply of high end stores, an aquarium and even a giant 150 million year old dinosaur skeleton from Wyoming! We then met up with some friends of friends for dinner outside the mall. They are both international teachers here and told us some more about living in Dubai. We walked around the fancy hotels and restaurants downtown for a bit longer, taking in all the nice cars, before getting a ride back to our hotel from our friends. Now we are back at the airport awaiting our flight to Dar es Salaam where we will meet up with the rest of the crew. Tuonane Baadaye!
