We made it to Amsterdam!

Well after a long flight, full of sore tushes and the ever-so-desirable airplane meals, we have officially left the United States and landed in Amsterdam. What an amazing feeling it is, knowing that all the wonderful experiences we are going to have while in Ilula are just around the corner! We are all so blessed with this amazing opportunity that will allow us to expand our knowledge about interdisciplinary healthcare, while using our intercultural experiences to broaden our view of the world. Though some have more experience in Tanzania and working in the healthcare profession than others, we are all on the same trip to learn about ourselves and the differences in our cultures through our healthcare systems. I am sure we would all agree that traveling and experiencing cultures different from our own has an effect on us that cannot be replicated, as each experience is unique in the people that it is being shared with.

We now have a couple hours at the Schiphol airport to explore, get some grub, and stretch our legs for a bit before we embark on the last leg of our journey. Though we are all tired (however, being in the healthcare profession, we are all well versed in functioning with little sleep, so it poses little problem), nothing can stop the feeling of excitement of the fact that the next time we step on land, we will be in Africa!
